Story of Hanasa – Let the memories begin
It all began with a journey to Pu Luong – a place where nature remains pristine and peacefully untouched. Along a winding dirt road passing through Thai ethnic villages, we were mesmerized by the majestic mountains and golden terraced rice fields stretching as far as the eye could see. In that very moment, all worries melted away, leaving only serenity and a simple, heartfelt joy. From that genuine emotion, Hanasa was born – with the desire to preserve the beauty of Pu Luong and to promote sustainable tourism that connects and uplifts the local community.
The meaning of the name: Hasana Pu Luong Resort.
In the heart of the enchanting mountainous landscapes, The name “Hanasa” comes from the Thai word “Hua Na” meaning near terrace rice fields. Hanasa Pu Luong Resort is understood as a resort on terraced fields. Hasana Pu Luong Resort stands as a testament to the harmonious coexistence of humanity and nature. The name “Hasana” was chosen as an embodiment of a profound meaning that encapsulates the very essence of our mountain haven.
Here, twelve bungalows now perch on the mountainside, with rice field valley as its backdrop.

The glamour beauty of the untouched local rural nature of Pu Luong
Pu Luong is a hidden gem offering unforgettable experiences for nature lovers. Trek through lush forests and vibrant rice terraces, where birdsong and rustling leaves accompany your journey. Cyclists can explore quiet trails and scenic viewpoints, discovering the reserve’s peaceful charm.
Unlike more famous destinations, Pu Luong remains off the beaten path, showcasing Northern Vietnam’s best in one place. It blends the mountain majesty of Sapa, the rice fields of Mu Cang Chai, the rivers and waterfalls of Cao Bang, the dramatic passes of Ha Giang, and the cultural richness of Mai Chau – all in one serene and authentic setting.
Ninety five percent of Hanasa staff are ethnic people whose former incomes came mainly from two rice cultivations in the fields. They came to Hanasa with limited education and no knowledge of hospitality and tourism but had an aspiration to diversify and improve their ability to earn a living.
We provided free training programs to help them succeed. They have welcomed the opportunity to work and build careers here in their beloved homeland and are now an integral part of the Hanasa Poeple.
